We had a nice visit with Jane at her winter getaway and she fed us a good lunch.
From Jane's we moved north to drop in on our friends George and Gail in The Villages. It was Saint Patrick's Day.
For a senior community the people in The Villages still remember how to party. There was green everywhere and they were having a good time.
They had live bands, acrobats and other acts to make it festive.
We toured The Villages a bit and eventually found a place to have dinner, Cody's. It was like a Texas Road House kind of place, quite good and remarkably inexpensive for being in The Villages.
Monday we will make our way north, if it works out we will try to meetup with some more of my Stevenson cousins around Gainesville and continue our way North to Randy's in Georgia.
It was good to see Jane in her winter surroundings and her turtle collection. Lunch was a bonus. George and Gail are gracious hosts and never disappoint. Gail made us a delicious breakfast before we departed. The surprising thing is the cooler temps the further we drive north, we didn’t think they would be that different, about 10 degrees.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jane was happy to see you. June, not sure why you shopped before you left - everyone keeps feeding you....
