Monday we left our friends in the Villages around 10AM, they are going to enjoy The Villages until mid April and then head back to the north country as so many do.
We were passing through Gainesville around mid day where cuz Brenda was able to get an hour off and meet us for lunch. We had a nice time catching up on family and visiting.
From Gainsville we moved north and decided to swing a bit west and stop at The Suwannee River State Park. We took the River Trail and the Balancing Rock Trail. I am sorry to report that the Balancing Rock is no longer balancing, it is a pile of rock in the river. It was a nice 3.5 mile walk.
The river is beautiful and good for canoeing, which can be rented.
The trails are marked but somewhat confusing, at one point we were consulting the map when another couple came upon us. I said something like where are we, the gentleman said "Is that a map of Florida?", everyone we ran into was quite nice.
At one point we ran into a large field of Lilies in the middle of the woods, pictures don't do it justice.
We left the state park and punched in the GPS for Randys. It is not always smart to just follow the GPS, it put us on a road that reminded me of the roads from a youtube series we have been watching called "Don't Stop Belizen", it gives a good perspective of South America, check it out. The road was horrible, but luckily only a few miles long.
Before getting on I75, we passed a field with red and purple flowers as far as you could see, it was beautiful.
We arrived at Randy's around 8:30PM. I got my usual parking spot.
Tuesday we spent the morning cleaning up a large oak tree that fell across Randy's driveway the week before. We worked at it for a few hours, enough to clear what crushed his fence and fell on the neighbors property. There is plenty left for a few more days work.
I spent much of the afternoon puddering with the Serenity Falcon, I washed it and assumed our usual parking place.
My solar panels don't work this year, the panel puts out 20V but no current. I will pursue the warranty when we get home.
Our screen door comes off the tracks, I removed it and put it back on. It is worse. Both repairs were a fail.
While I was on the roof of the Falcon, I took some shots of Randy's property, it is quite a nice spread.
The Garden goes in on Wednesday.
The pond is just around the corner.
The house and garage with a one bedroom apartment above.
Wednesday we will put in the garden and do some other stuff to keep us busy.
It was good to get out and stretch our legs at the park. We were looking for the wild life (white tail deer and “Bugs”, the bunny) but they were elusive.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to relax with family. Randy and Sue are very generous; we have the perfect campsite right now. Tomorrow we plant the garden!
